上堂：「丹霞燒木佛，院主眉鬚落，鳥飛毛墜，魚行水濁。」喝一喝云：「是甚麼？要識真麒麟，只有一隻角。參！」

Ascending the hall: "Danxia burned the wooden buddha; the monastery director's eyebrows and beard fell out. As birds fly, feathers drop; as fish swim, water turns turbid." Giving a shout, he said, "What is it? If you wish to recognize the true qilin, it has only a single horn. Practice!"
