6.20

上堂：「今朝又是五月五，大鬼拍手小鬼舞，驀然撞著桃符神，兩手椎胸叫冤苦。艾人云：『休叫苦。』」遂拈拄杖卓一下云：「只有一處堪回互，回互不回互，回而更相涉。」擲下云：「不爾依位住。參！」

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "Today is again the fifth day of the fifth month: the big ghosts clap their hands and the little ghosts dance; suddenly they bump into the deity of the peachwood talisman, who beats his breast with both hands and cries out his grief and misery. The mugwort man says: 'Stop crying misery!'" Thereupon he took up his staff, struck it once, and said: "There is only one place where there can be mutual blending: mutual blending or no mutual blending? 'Intertwined, they interact.'" Throwing it down, he said: "'Otherwise, they abide in their places.' Examine!"
