6.21

上堂：「今朝又是六月半，記得一則舊公案。」拈拄杖卓一下云：「拄杖子吞却法身，露柱在傍偷眼看，看不看，拈起秦時鞭轢鑽。雖然如是，這一則舊公案，妙喜與他重剖判。」擲下云：「萬別與千差，吾道一以貫。」

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "Today is again the middle of the sixth month; I recall an old gong'an." Taking up his staff, he struck it once and said: "The staff swallows the Dharma-body, while the open pillar on the side steals a glance. Looking or not looking? Pick up the axle-drilling chisel from the Qin dynasty! Even though it is like this, this old gong'an—Miaoxi will analyze and judge it once more for him." Throwing it down, he said: "Through ten thousand distinctions and a thousand differences, my Dao is bound together by a single thread."
