7.10

示眾：「諸法本來絕待，觸目且無拘礙，只因斷臂覓心，便有人求懺罪。無文印子既成，付法傳衣廝賴，致令盧老黃梅，墜石腰間舂碓。將謂有法與人，問著却言不會，引得後代兒孫，盡作韓獹逐塊。雖欲扶竪宗乘，奈何東倒西儽，子細檢點將來，直是令人叵耐。若也盡令而行，一擊須教粉碎，有時靜坐思量，就中也有可愛。且道有甚麼可愛？深沙共脩羅結親，金剛與土地指背。」喝一喝。

Instructing the assembly, [the Master] said: "All dharmas are originally beyond opposition; meeting the eyes, there is no obstruction whatsoever. Simply because someone severed his arm to seek mind, someone then came begging to repent sins. Once the seal without writing was forged, transmitting the dharma and passing on the robe brought mutual entanglement, leading old Lu of Huangmei to tie a stone to his waist to pound the mortar. Thinking there is a dharma to give people, when questioned he instead said he did not understand, leading descendants of later generations all to chase the clod like Han Lu hounds. Though wishing to uphold the ancestral vehicle, what can be done about stumbling and staggering all over? Examining it in detail, it really is unbearable. If the order were carried out to the fullest, a single strike would smash it to powder. At times sitting quietly and reflecting, even within it there is something lovely. Tell me, what is lovely? Shensha forms an alliance by marriage with an asura; the vajra warrior points his back at the earth deity." He gave a shout.
