示眾，舉：「僧問雲門：『如何是道？』門云：『透出一字。』」師云：「透出一字，却不相似，急轉頭來，張三李四。」下座。

He instructed the assembly by citing: "A monk asked Yunmen: 'What is the Way?' Yunmen said: 'Pervading out of the single character.'"

The Master said: "Pervading out of the single character, yet not resembling it; turning one's head in haste: Zhang the Third and Li the Fourth." He stepped down from the seat.
