On the occasion of Bathing the Buddha, ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "'The ninety-seven marks of the Great Man adorn the subtly wonderful, pure Dharma-body; manifesting his birth from his mother's womb, he performs the Buddha's work for the sake of sentient beings.' But just what is this Buddha's work that is performed?" After a long pause, he said: "Stepping down from the seat, together with the head monk and the great assembly, entering the Tathāgata's ocean of fragrant water, to assist this old fellow in turning the great wheel of the Dharma."
