1.101

上堂：「釋迦不說說，抝曲作直；迦葉不聞聞，望空啟告；馬祖即心即佛，掛羊頭賣狗肉；趙州勘庵主，貴買賤賣分文不直。且如文殊是七佛之師，因什麼出女子定不得？河天月暈魚分子，檞葉風微鹿養茸。」

Ascending the hall: "Śākya spoke without speaking, bending the crooked to make it straight; Kāśyapa heard without hearing, gazing into empty space to announce; Mazu said 'the mind itself is the Buddha,' hanging up a sheep's head to sell dog meat; Zhaozhou tested the hermitage masters, buying high and selling low, not worth a single cent. And say, Mañjuśrī is the teacher of seven buddhas; why was he unable to bring the maiden out of samādhi? In the river sky, the moon halos as fish spawn; amidst oak leaves, the wind is gentle as deer nurture velvet."
