上堂，舉：「僧問雲門：『死向什麼處去？』雲門對他道：『在什麼處？』」師云：「雲門秉殺人刀活人劍，點檢將來，要且不知去處。忽有問華藏死向什麼處去？只向他道：薰風自南來，殿閣生微涼。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "A monk asked Yunmen, 'Where does one go after death?' Yunmen answered him, 'Where is it?'" The Master said: "Yunmen wields the sword that kills people and the blade that gives people life. Examining it, after all he does not know where to go. If suddenly someone asks Huazang, 'Where does one go after death?', I will only say to him: 'The fragrant breeze comes from the south, and the palace halls produce a slight coolness.'"
