上堂，拈拄杖卓一下云：「迷時只迷遮箇。」復卓一下云：「悟時只悟遮箇。迷悟兩忘，糞掃堆頭重添搕𢶍。莫有向東湧西汲全機獨脫處道得一句麼？若道不得，華藏自道去也。」擲拄杖，下座。

Ascending the hall, he held up his staff, struck once, and said: "When deluded, one is only deluded about this." Striking once again, he said: "When enlightened, one is only enlightened about this. When both delusion and enlightenment are forgotten, it is just adding more trash onto the heap of dung. Is there anyone who can utter a phrase at the place where gushing in the east and ladling in the west, the entire dynamic is solely detached? If you cannot speak, Huazang will speak for himself." He threw down his staff and descended from the seat.
