上堂：「祖師心印，不涉言詮，問訊燒香，早成多事。行棒行喝，開眼尿床，舉古舉今，泥中洗土。別有向上一路，千聖不傳，總是熟睡饒噡語。衲僧家心憤憤口悱悱，到者裏如何即是？」以拂子擊禪床云：「衲帔蒙頭萬事休，此時山僧都不會。」

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said, "The ancestral teachers' mind-seal does not involve verbal explanation. Greeting with bows and burning incense have already become redundant matters. Administering the stick and shouting is to piss in bed with eyes wide open. Citing the past and citing the present is washing dirt in mud. As for having a separate direct path beyond that the thousand sages do not transmit—it is all merely babbling while fast asleep! When patchrobed monks are indignant in their hearts and sputtering in their mouths, what is right upon reaching this point?"
Striking the meditation seat with the whisk, he said, "Covering the head with a patched robe, the myriad matters cease; at this time, this mountain monk understands nothing at all."
