上堂，舉：「龐居士頌：『十方同聚會』」師云：「鐵壁銀山。『個個學無為』」師云：「日月照臨。『此是選佛場』」師云：「龍蛇混雜。『心空及第歸』」師云：「凡聖同居。」驀拈拄杖橫按云：「龐居士在遮裏坐地，是汝諸人還見麼？」遂擲下拄杖云：「三生六十劫。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Layman Pang's verse: 'Together we gather from the ten directions,'" the master said, "An iron wall and a silver mountain." "'Each studying non-action,'" the master said, "The sun and moon shine down." "'This is the arena for selecting buddhas,'" the master said, "Dragons and snakes are mixed together." "'Emptying the mind, one passes the examination and returns.'" The master said, "The common and the sacred dwell together." Suddenly taking up his staff and holding it horizontally, he said, "Layman Pang is sitting right here—do all of you still see him?" He then threw down the staff and said, "Three lifetimes and sixty kalpas."
