上堂，舉：「玄沙問鏡清云：『不見一法是大過患，汝道，不見甚麼法？』清指露柱云：『莫是不見者箇法麼？』沙云：『浙中清水白米從汝喫，佛法未在。』」師云：「也好莫是兩字，會麼？寒雲抱幽石，霜月照清池。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Xuansha asked Jingqing, 'Not seeing a single phenomenon is a great fault. Tell me, what phenomenon is not seen?' Jingqing pointed to an exposed pillar and said, 'Could it be that this phenomenon is not seen?' Xuansha said, 'Clear water and white rice in Zhejiang are yours to eat, but the Buddha Dharma is not yet there.'" The Master said: "What fine two words: 'Could it be'! Do you understand? Cold clouds embrace the secluded stone; the frosted moon shines on the clear pond."
