上堂：「杜宇不如歸，竹雞泥滑滑，深山巖崖中，誰道無佛法。有佛法衲僧，只有三隻襪。」

Ascending the hall: "The cuckoo cries 'Better return'; the bamboo partridge cries 'The mud is slippery.' Deep among mountain crags and cliffs, who says there is no Buddhadharma? A patch-robed monk who has the Buddhadharma has only three socks."
