2.119

上堂，謝秉拂：「此拂子過如吹毛劍，善用者坐致太平，不善用者傷鋒犯手。二林莫有出廐良駒，不勞鞭影底麼？」擲下拂子：「看看。」

Ascending the hall, he thanked [the monk who] held the whisk: "This whisk surpasses a sword that cuts a hair blown against it. One who is skilled in its use brings about great peace while sitting; one who is unskilled in its use blunts the edge and injures his hands. In the two groves, is there a fine steed that comes out of the stable without laboring under the shadow of the whip?" He threw down the whisk: "Look, look!"
