乃云：「以火續燈名晝，以燈續火為夜，晝夜相續，燈燈無盡。驀然黑地裏，撞著露柱，怪得阿誰？」

He then said, "Continuing the lamp with fire is called daytime; continuing the fire with the lamp is night. Daytime and night continue one another; lamp after lamp is inexhaustible. Suddenly in the dark, you collide with an exposed pillar—who can you blame?"
