上堂：「吒吒呀呀，如獅子兒，我者裏也須勘爾；㪍㪍窣窣，似探竿影草，我者裏也須疑爾。雖然菽麥不分，爭奈鹽落醬裏。」

Ascending the hall: "Roaring and posturing like a lion cub—here I must also examine you; rustling and bustling like a sounding pole and grass shadow—here I must also doubt you. Although bean and wheat are not distinguished, what can be done about salt falling into bean paste?"
