上堂：「盡信書不知無書，識得箇字，不如忘却箇字，九經諸子徒爾藻飾，一大藏教盡是藥方，分明對物收稅，何用商量？一葉扁舟載大唐。」

Ascending the hall: "Believing books completely, you do not know the absence of books; recognizing a character is not as good as forgetting the character. The Nine Classics and the various philosophers are in vain mere embellishment; the entire Great Canon of teachings is all medicinal prescriptions. Clearly collecting taxes according to the goods, what need is there to deliberate? A flat leaf of a boat carries the Great Tang."
