上堂，舉：「僧問馬祖：『如何是佛？』祖云：『即心是。』」師云：「馬大師一隻透心箭子，中者絕消息，今日看看，鋒稜盡矣。」
Ascending the hall, he brought up [the following]: "A monk asked Mazu, 'What is the Buddha?' Mazu said, 'Mind as it is.'" The master said, "Great Master Ma's single arrow piercing the heart: those it hits lose all news. Looking at it today, its sharp edge is completely gone."
