上堂：「猫有歃血之功，虎有起屍之德，爾衲子得恁麼沒碑記？南山起雲、北山下雨則且置，為什麼桃花能紅、李花能白？」

Ascending the hall: "A cat has the merit of drinking blood; a tiger has the virtue of raising corpses. How is it that you patch-robed monks have no monument or inscription? Clouds rising from the South Mountain and rain falling on the North Mountain can be set aside for now; why is it that peach blossoms can be red and plum blossoms can be white?"
