上堂云。淅淅西風斂氣浮。遠天野水一般秋。衲僧歇到茲時節。坐照寒光湛不流。諸禪德祖師道。心隨萬境轉。轉處實能幽。且作麼生是轉處。還會麼。解報山家六戶曉。須知雲樹一聲雞。

Ascending the hall, he said: "The rustling west wind gathers the floating vapor; / distant sky and wild water are of the same autumn. / When a patch-robed monk rests until this season, / sitting and illuminating the cold light, limpid and unflowing. Chan worthies, the Patriarch said: 'The mind turns following myriad conditions; where it turns is truly profound.' But what is the place where it turns? Do you understand? / To announce dawn to the six doors of the mountain house, / one must know the single rooster crowing among the cloudy trees."
