上堂云。一言道斷不鼓唇皮。一擔擔起不費氣力。直得口掛壁上也。妙照那人。意在目前也。圓成眾事。便能默時說說時默。用時閑閑時用。且道。正當用時如何。良久云。巨靈擡手無多子。分破華山千萬重。

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "One word cuts off speech without flapping the lips; one carrying-pole shoulders [the load] without expending strength. Even if one's mouth hangs on the wall, wonderfully illuminating that person, the intention is before one's eyes. Perfectly accomplishing the myriad affairs, one can then speak while silent and be silent while speaking; be at leisure while functioning and function while at leisure. Tell me, right at the time of functioning, how is it?" After a long pause, he said: "When the giant spirit Juling raised his hand, it was no great effort; he split Mount Hua into ten thousand folds."
