小參云。兄弟十方無壁落。從本來元沒遮欄。四面亦無門。祇者裡便是入處。可謂通途息耗。叶路當風。其或反側遲迴。便是撞頭磕額。正恁麼時作麼生。良久云。玉馬雪行歸半夜。羚羊掛角月沈西（陳謝畢）復云。兄弟三世諸佛不知有。點即不到。白牯貍奴却知有。到即不點。何須馳騁神通。祇恁蕩除知見。雲開也星象排珠。月上也江光鋪練。懵懂還如癡兀人。他家自有通人辨。正恁麼時。且道。作麼生辨。但向道三年一閏。

At an informal gathering he said: "Brothers, in the ten directions there are no walls; from the origin there has never been any obstruction. On the four sides there are also no gates; right here is the place of entry. It can be called a thoroughfare where news ceases, a crossroad facing the wind. If you turn and hesitate, you will bump your head and strike your forehead. Right at such a time, how is it?" / After a long pause, he said, "The jade horse walks through the snow, returning at midnight; / The antelope hangs by its horns, the moon sinking in the west." / (After the acknowledgments of thanks were concluded, he spoke again:) "Brothers, the Buddhas of the three periods do not know it is there: pointing to it, they do not reach it; the white ox and the wildcat do know it is there: reaching it, they do not point. Why must you gallop with supernatural powers? Just thus sweep away knowledge and views. When clouds disperse, the constellations line up like pearls; when the moon rises, the river's light spreads out like silk. Muddled, one is like a foolish, motionless person; his family naturally has an adept to discern it. Right at such a time, tell me: how does one discern it? Just say to him: 'Every three years, there is an intercalary month.'"
