1.78

上堂云。心月孤圓。義天洞曉。照中之虛。虛中之照。不萠枝上鳥初惺。無影樹頭春不老。垢衣權掛類中來。出門信手拈來草。

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said, "The moon of the mind is solitary and round; the sky of reality is clearly bright. The emptiness within illumination, the illumination within emptiness. On a branch that does not sprout, the bird first awakens; atop the shadowless tree, spring never grows old. Provisionally draping soiled clothes, coming amid the kinds; walking out the gate, freely picking up the grass."
