1.80

舉宗首座立僧。上堂云。栴檀林裡。秀出一枝。薝蔔堂中。與分半座。直得木人招手。石女點頭。度關玉線兩岐分。細看頭尾。合縫金針雙鎖密。不露鋒鋩。正恁麼時。且道。甚人辨得。良久云。還會麼。可中會有兒孫。自解傳持家法。

Citing Head Monk Zong's establishment as a teacher, [the Master] ascended the hall and said, "In the sandalwood grove, a single branch stands out; in the campaka hall, he is shared half the seat. It brings about the wooden figure beckoning and the stone maiden nodding. Passing the checkpoint, the jade threads divide in two directions—look closely from head to tail; joining the seams, the golden needle is doubly sealed tight—leaving no sharp point exposed. Right at such a time, tell me: what person can discern it?" After a pause, he said, "Do you understand? If there are sons and grandsons among you, they naturally understand how to transmit and uphold the family rule."
