1.81

開啟乾龍聖節。上堂云。豁爾轉身。全體紹父王之業。端然垂拱。應機付臣子之功。可謂道契環中。恩流域內。自然無為之化。不令而行。諸人還會麼。聖人體合乾坤道。國泰民安正是時。

Inaugurating the Qianlong Imperial Birthday, [the Master] ascended the hall and said, "Openly turning oneself around, one's whole body inherits the father king's estate; uprightly draping one's robes, one responds to the occasion by assigning merit to ministers and subjects. It can be said: the Way accords with the centre of the circle, and grace flows within the realm. Naturally, governance through non-contrivance is carried out without command. Do you understand? The sage's substance unites with the way of Qian and Kun; the nation at peace and the people secure—this is precisely the time."
