送監收上堂舉。南泉因刈禾次。僧問。南泉路向甚麼處去。泉拈起鎌子云。我這鎌子三十錢買。僧云。我不問鎌子。南泉路向甚麼處去。泉云。我這鎌子用得快。當時三十文錢買。南泉門下路岐通。寄語行人著精彩。著精彩相謾殺。衲僧眼被案山礙。而今覻破露堂堂。大地撮來成一塊。大眾若也如此。顆糝漏他不得。上堂身裏出門。門裏出身。白雲能作客。明月解隨人參。

Ascending the hall on sending off the harvest supervisor, he cited: When Nanquan was harvesting grain, a monk asked, 'Where does the road to Nanquan go?' Nanquan held up the sickle and said, 'I bought this sickle for thirty coins.' The monk said, 'I am not asking about the sickle; where does the road to Nanquan go?' Nanquan said, 'I use this sickle quickly; at the time, I bought it for thirty copper coins.' Beneath Nanquan's gate, crossroads open wide; / A message to travelers: muster your spirit! / Mustering spirit deceives to death— / A patch-robed monk's eyes are blocked by the facing mountain. / Now seen through, exposed and distinct; / The great earth gathered up into a single lump. If the great assembly is also like this, not a single grain can be leaked out. Ascending the hall: Outside the gate within the body, the body emerges within the gate. / White clouds can serve as guests; / The bright moon knows how to follow people. Investigate!
