上堂百草頭上平生事。鬧市門前百億身。及盡許如閑影響。體明空劫那邊人。那邊人何所有。白雲斷處青山秀。絕他緣唯自守。結夏須教醭生口。有說便是野干鳴。無說自然師子吼。

Ascending the hall: "Lifelong affairs atop the hundred grasses; hundreds of billions of bodies before the gates of the noisy market. Having exhausted such idle shadows and echoes, one illuminates the substance of the person beyond the kalpa of emptiness. What does that person beyond have? Where the white clouds end, the green mountains are graceful. Severing other conditions, one merely guards oneself. Entering the summer retreat, one must make mold grow on the mouth. To speak is the howling of a jackal; not to speak is naturally the lion's roar."
