幹簾化主請上堂舉。忠國師問子璘供奉。講得唯識論是否。璘云不敢。國師云。唯識意旨如何。璘云。三界唯心。萬法唯識。國師指簾云。這箇是甚麼。璘云簾子。國師云。簾前賜紫。對御談經。五戒也不持。師云。此一段事的的明了。還他忠國師始得。心無異心。而法無異法。法無異法。而心無異心。處處虛通。會有六窓風月。頭頭出礙。更無一點塵埃參。

Requested to ascend the hall by the alms-collector in charge of screens, he cited: National Teacher Zhong asked Palace Attendant Zilin, "Can you lecture on the Treatise on Consciousness-Only or not?" Lin said, "I would not dare." The National Teacher said, "What is the essential meaning of Consciousness-Only?" Lin said, "The three realms are mind-only; the myriad dharmas are consciousness-only." The National Teacher pointed to the screen and said, "What is this?" Lin said, "A screen." The National Teacher said, "Bestowed purple robes before the curtain, discussing sūtras before the emperor, yet you do not even uphold the five precepts!" The Master said: "This matter was distinctly and clearly understood; it had to be National Teacher Zhong to pull it off. Mind has no other mind, and dharmas have no other dharmas. Dharmas have no other dharmas, and mind has no other mind. Everywhere empty and penetrating, naturally having the wind and moon through the six windows; in every circumstance emerging without obstruction, without a speck of dust to investigate."
