示眾舉洞山云。秋初夏末。兄弟或東或西。直須向萬里無寸草處去。諸人還體悉得麼。一色是須轉。大功不我居。珠走碧盤盤走珠。直下滄溟取明月。吾家自有崑崙奴。且道。作麼生行履。天宇豁空雲卷雨。溪容澄澈水懷秋。

Instructing the assembly, he cited: Dongshan said, "At the beginning of autumn and the end of summer, brothers, whether heading east or heading west, you must go straight to the place where there is not an inch of grass for ten thousand miles." Do all of you thoroughly comprehend this? "The single color must be turned; the great achievement is not mine to dwell in. The pearl rolls on the jade-green plate, the plate rolls the pearl; going straight down into the azure sea to fetch the bright moon, my house naturally has its own Kunlun slave." Tell me, how do you practice? The vault of heaven opens wide into emptiness as clouds roll up the rain; the stream's countenance is limpid and clear, the water holding autumn.
