Ascending the hall: "'If views are exhausted, be careful not to pursue them. As soon as there is right and wrong, the mind is lost in confusion.' Zen worthies, if views are exhausted, naturally at all times it is level and smooth, towering and grand. This is the patch-robed monk's body that universally pervades, the inherently complete eye, the wondrous, completely enlightened mind. If there is a single thread or single strand making a 'before' and 'after' within it, one immediately sees turbulence and confusion. Tell me, how do you experience this? When a person is level, they do not speak; when water is level, it does not flow."
