上堂。因緣和合而生。生不可生生。影生於形。響生於聲。森羅萬象從崢嶸。虛空廓落無虧盈。杳杳冥冥。靈靈明明。是其中之精。非其外之情。見本家曠古之佛。得自己廣大之經。湛兮若存無迹像。善惡不我相隨行。只如分應後又作麼生。物物現成觀自在。人人具足常不輕。

Ascending the hall: "Arising from the conjunction of causes and conditions, arising cannot give rise to arising. Shadows arise from forms; echoes arise from sounds. The myriad dense phenomena tower up together; empty space is vast and open, without waning or waxing. Remote and obscure, numinous and clear, it is the quintessence within, not the sentiments without. See the ancient Buddha of your original home; attain the immense sutra of yourself. Serene as if enduring, without trace or image; good and evil do not accompany me. Just what is it like after responding in differentiation? In thing after thing, Avalokiteśvara is ready-made; in person after person, Sadāparibhūta is fully complete."
