上堂云。好諸禪德。雲容初破。雪意已回。清光心醉而醒。皓色眼迷而轉。直得全超不借。獨脫無依。裏許通宗。幾人得妙。諸禪德。箇是密密綿綿。轉功底時節。還體悉得麼。良久云。初平不語癡羊臥。消息分明付與誰參。

Ascending the hall, he said: “Good meditators! The clouds’ appearance has just broken apart; the intent of snow has already returned. Intoxicated by the pure light, the mind awakens; dazzled by the luminous color, the eyes turn. One reaches complete transcendence without borrowing, solitary liberation without reliance. Within this, passing through the source, how many attain the subtle? Meditators! This is the season of dense, continuous transformation of function. Do you comprehend? After a long pause he said: “Chuping does not speak; the foolish sheep lie down. To whom is this distinct message entrusted? Investigate!”
