請首座。上堂。氷生野水。肅揚北帝之威風。雪破溪梅。漏泄東君之消息。把定也。舜若多亦須膚粟慘慘覺寒。放行也。兢伽女却解聞香氳氳知味。規矩那煩刀尺。調和豈費鹽梅。身心妙齊物之能。手段具同事之攝。正恁麼時節。順恁麼機宜。且道。是什麼人能了恁麼事。還相委悉麼。暖迴氣象遽多許。春在叢林第一枝。

Requesting a head monk, [he] ascended the hall: Ice arises on the wild waters, strictly expressing the majestic demeanor of the Northern Sovereign; snow breaks through the creek's plums, leaking the tidings of the Lord of the East. Holding fast: even Śūnyatā must feel goosebumps and bitterly perceive the cold. Letting go: the woman of the Gaṅgā can indeed smell the fragrance, deeply perceiving flavor. How need the compass and square trouble knife and ruler? How could seasoning require salt and plum? Body and mind subtly equalize the function of things; skill embodies the integration of shared endeavor. Just at this time, in accord with this functioning: tell me, what kind of person can bring such a matter to completion? Do you understand? The warmth returns and conditions suddenly multiply; spring is upon the first branch of the monastic grove.
