事不在容。智不到宗。待雲雷而陶壁梭蟄。授衣鉢而盧老逃舂。
犀通半夜月。鶴夢千年松。
白髮蒼顏跛挈公。時人相笑老龍鍾。

The matter lies not in appearance;
Wisdom reaches not the ancestral source.
Waiting for cloud and thunder, the shuttle on Tao's wall stirs;
Handed the robe and bowl, old Lu fled the pestle.
The rhinoceros horn communicates with the midnight moon;
The crane dreams of the thousand-year pine.
A lame, limping elder with white hair and withered face—
People of the time laugh together at his decrepitude.
