雲水孤藤。叢林老僧。瀾翻口角。雪點眉棱。長春時節相聯蘂。
破夜光明自照燈。內無絲而繫螘。
外無糝而聚蠅。不起滅定。能應繁興。

A solitary vine of clouds and water; / an old monk of the monastic grove. / Words billow from the corners of his mouth; / snow dots the ridges of his brows. / In the season of perpetual spring, buds are linked together; / breaking the night, the bright light is its own illuminating lamp. / Within, there is no thread to tie the ant; / without, there is no grain of rice to gather flies. / Without arising from the samādhi of cessation, / he can respond to the proliferation of events.
