9.428

清淨本然。和合因緣。涅不緇而磨不磷。仰彌高而鑽彌堅。
隨之無後。迎之無前。空空空處亡中邊。
而今信手拈來用。頭尾相應正復偏。

Pure and fundamentally so, / causes and conditions harmoniously unite. / Steeping does not make it black, nor grinding wear it thin; / looking up, it is ever higher; boring in, it is ever harder. / Following it, there is no rear; / meeting it, there is no front. / In the place of emptiness upon emptiness, middle and edges are lost. / Now, taken up at will and used: / beginning and end correspond, the upright and the biased.
