Hair pure white like snowy mountains,
Eyes deep and limpid like an autumn pool.
Staff and whisk are his companions in old age;
He has thoroughly investigated in the monastic groves.
The myriad totalities are not a single existence;
Breaking two apart only turns them into three.
Every gate is empty yet rightly received;
Each thing conducts its own Chan discourse.
In the spring pavilion there is no need for coarse mats;
The birds with flowers in their beaks have now ceased carrying them.
