上堂。六月連三伏。人間似焰爐。且道。如何是衲僧行履處。依稀寒水玉。彷彿冷秋菰。脩竹芭蕉入畫圖。

Ascending the hall: / "The sixth month brings the three dog days of summer; / The human world is like a blazing furnace. / But tell me, what is the patch-robed monk's realm of practice? / Vaguely like jade in cold water, / Resembling water oats in chill autumn; / Tall bamboos and plantains enter the painted scroll."
