1.74

四月一日祈晴上堂。簷聲不斷前旬雨。電影還連後夜雷。麥怕水侵秧怕冷。蠶桑猶要暖來催。正當恁麼。眾生沒在苦。蒼天良可哀。且道。如何是佛法。靈驗一句咄。杲日當空慧眼開。

Ascending the hall to pray for clear weather on the first day of the fourth month: Eave drips continue without cease from the rains of the past ten days; lightning flashes still connect with thunder in the deep of the night. Wheat fears the intrusion of water, rice seedlings fear the cold; sericulture and mulberries still require warmth to urge them along. Just at such a moment, sentient beings are submerged in suffering; blue heaven is truly to be pitied! And tell me: What is the single phrase efficacious in the Buddha Dharma? Du! The bright sun is in the sky, and the eye of wisdom opens.
