1.89

歲朝上堂。天得一以清。元正啟祚。地得一以寧。萬物咸新。且道。衲僧得一。合作麼生。太平歌有道。和氣笑迎春。

Ascending the hall on New Year's Day, [the Master said]: "'Heaven attaining the One becomes clear'—the prime month begins auspicious blessings; 'Earth attaining the One becomes tranquil'—the myriad things are entirely renewed. But tell me, when a patch-robed monk attains the One, what must he do? Singing the song of great peace, there is the Way; / With genial harmony, smiling to greet the spring."
