再留首座上堂。殺人刀活人劍。轉磨轉精。累試累驗。還知麼。乃上古之風規。亦今時之樞要。淨慈門下實相當。倚天照雪寒光耀。

Ascending the hall on retaining the head monk again, [the Master said]: "The sword that kills people, the sword that gives people life; / The more it is ground, the sharper it gets; tested repeatedly, proven repeatedly. / Do you still understand? / It is the standard of ancient times / And the essential pivot of today. / Under Jingci's gate, it truly matches: / Leaning against heaven, reflecting off snow, its cold light gleams!"
