垂示云。明鏡當臺。妍醜自辨。鏌鎁在手。殺活臨時。漢去胡來。胡來漢去。死中得活。活中得死。且道到這裏。又作麼生。若無透關底眼轉身處。到這裏灼然不柰何。且道如何是透關底眼。轉身處。試舉看。

The pointer says: When the bright mirror is on the stand, beauty and ugliness are naturally distinguished. When the Moye sword is in hand, killing and giving life take place according to the moment. A Han departs and a Hu arrives; a Hu arrives and a Han departs. In the midst of death one attains life; in the midst of life one attains death. Tell me, when you arrive here, how is it? Without the eye that penetrates the barrier and a place to turn one's body, when you arrive here you truly have no way out. Tell me, what is the eye that penetrates the barrier, the place to turn one's body? Consider the following case:
