舉。廓侍者問德山。從上諸聖向什麼處去也（在儞鼻孔裏）山云。作麼作麼（迅雷不及掩耳）廓云。勅點飛龍馬。跛鼈出頭來（家富兒嬌）山便休去（饒人不是癡）來日山浴出。廓過茶與山。山撫廓背一下（斷送上竿頭）廓云。這老漢方始瞥地（覆車同轍）山又休去（虎頭虎尾一時收）。

Case: Attendant Kuo asked Deshan, "Where have all the sages from of old gone?" (Right in your nostrils.) Deshan said, "What? What?" (A sudden crack of thunder leaves no time to cover the ears.) Kuo said, "The imperial command summoned the Flying Dragon steed, but a lame turtle poked its head out." (The house is wealthy and the child is pampered.) Deshan then let it drop. (Pardoning someone is not foolishness.) The next day, when Deshan came out from bathing, Kuo served tea to Deshan. Deshan patted Kuo once on the back. (Sending him right up to the top of the pole.) Kuo said, "This old fellow has just begun to catch a glimpse." (An overturned cart on the same track.) Deshan again let it drop. (The tiger's head and the tiger's tail are gathered up all at once.)
