3.127

舉。黃蘗示眾云。汝等諸人盡是噇酒糟漢（黃蘗門下）與麼行脚何處有今日（今既不如昔後當不如今）還知大唐國裏無禪師麼（眼高四海）時有僧出云。只如諸方匡徒領眾。又作麼生（黃蘗兼身在）蘗云。不道無禪。只是無師（且救得一半）。

Case: Huangbo instructed the assembly, saying, "All of you are just dreg-eating fellows!(Under Huangbo's gate.)
Traveling on foot like this, where will you find today?(Since today is not equal to the past, the future will not be equal to today.)
Do you know that in the great Tang empire there are no Chan teachers?"(His eyes look beyond the four seas.)
At that time a monk came forward and said, "What about those in various quarters who direct followers and lead assemblies?"(Huangbo is included among them.)
Bo said, "I do not say there is no Chan, only that there are no teachers."(For now, he has saved half.)
