6.4

舉。溈山問道吾。甚麼處來（來處要分明）吾云。看病來（福田第一即不無）山云。有幾人病（更要兩等）吾云。有病者不病者（却是爾有第二月）山云。不病者莫是智頭陀麼（陷虎之機）吾云。病與不病。總不干他事。速道速道（却被葫蘆倒繳藤）山云。道得也沒交涉（禍不入慎家之門）。

Case: Guishan asked Daowu, "Where have you come from?" (The place of coming must be clear.)
Wu said, "I have come from visiting the sick." (The first field of merit is indeed not absent.)
Shan said, "How many people are sick?" (Still demanding two sorts.)
Wu said, "There are those who are sick and those who are not sick." (Yet you have a second moon.)
Shan said, "Is the one who is not sick the ascetic Zhi?" (A device to trap a tiger.)
Wu said, "Being sick or not sick has nothing to do with him at all. Speak quickly! Speak quickly!" (Yet the gourd vine is tangled back onto itself.)
Shan said, "Even if you could speak, it would have no connection." (Disaster does not enter the house of the cautious.)
