問。此根本識心。既稱為一切法體。又云。常住不動。只如萬法。即此心有。離此心有。若即此心。萬法遷變。此心云何稱為常住。若離此心。復云何得為一切法體。

Question: Since this fundamental consciousness-citta is called the substance of all dharmas, and is also said to be eternally abiding and unmoving: are the myriad dharmas existent as this citta, or existent apart from this citta? If they are this citta, then the myriad dharmas change and alter; how can this citta be called eternally abiding? If they exist apart from this citta, how can it be the substance of all dharmas?
