98.4

寒山子詩云。男兒大丈夫。作事莫莽𮏗。徑直鐵石心。直取菩提路。邪道不用行。行之必辛苦。不要求佛果。識取心王主。

Master Hanshan's poem says:
"A manly person, a great hero,
In handling affairs, do not be reckless and crude.
Make your citta straight as iron and stone;
Take directly to the path of bodhi.
There is no need to travel perverse paths;
Traveling them will surely be bitter hardship.
Do not seek the fruit of Buddhahood;
Recognize and take hold of the ruler, the king of citta."
