Answer: "If one discusses a single characteristic and a single flavor, this belongs to the provisional teachings of the triyāna; spoken in terms of principle, it regards all causes and conditions as faults and afflictions. What is collected here merely reveals the Consummate School: every single instance of conditioned arising is the real virtue of the dharmadhātu, neither formed nor destroyed, neither annihilated nor eternal. Even spiritual transformations and purposeful actions are all because dharmas are just so, not temporarily obtained in this way by relying on spiritual power. As soon as a single dharma arises from conditions, it is nothing other than the merit of nature-origination. The Avataṃsaka Sūtra says: 'In this ocean of worlds of the Lotus Treasury, without distinction between mountains or rivers, down to trees, dust motes, hair tips, and other places—every single one accords with the dharmadhātu of tathatā and is endowed with boundless virtues.'"
