晦堂一日見黃龍有不豫之色。因逆問之。黃龍曰。監收未得人。晦堂遂薦感副寺。黃龍曰。感尚暴。恐為小人所謀。晦堂曰。化侍者稍廉謹。黃龍謂化雖廉謹。不若秀莊主有量而忠。靈源嘗問晦堂。黃龍用一監收。何過慮如此。晦堂曰。有國有家者。未嘗不本此。豈特黃龍為然。先聖亦曾戒之（大溈秀雙嶺化感鐵面三人也通菴壁記）。

One day, Huitang saw that Huanglong had an unhappy expression, and so he took the opportunity to ask him about it. Huanglong said, ‘We have not yet found the right person to supervise the harvest.’ Huitang then recommended Vice Prior Gan. Huanglong said, ‘Gan is still violent; I fear he will be plotted against by petty persons.’ Huitang said, ‘Attendant Hua is somewhat incorruptible and cautious.’ Huanglong said that although Hua was incorruptible and cautious, he was not as magnanimous and loyal as Estate Manager Xiu. Lingyuan once asked Huitang, ‘For Huanglong to employ a single harvest supervisor, why did he worry so excessively like this?’ Huitang said, ‘Those who have states and families have never failed to take this as their root. How could it be so only for Huanglong? The former sages also once gave warnings about this.’ (Dawei Xiu, Shuangling Hua, and Iron-Face Gan were the three people; Wall Record of Tong'an)
