1.70

英邵武每見學者恣肆不懼因果。嘆息久之曰。勞生如旅泊。住則隨緣去則亡矣。彼所得能幾何。爾輩不識廉恥干犯名分。污瀆宗教乃至如是。大丈夫志在恢弘祖道誘掖後來。不應私擅己慾無所避忌。媒一身之禍造萬劫之殃。三途地獄受苦者。未是苦也。向袈裟下失却人身。實為苦也（壁記）。

Whenever Ying of Shaowu saw students acting unrestrained without fearing cause and effect, he would sigh for a long time and say: "This toilsome life is like staying at an inn; staying is following conditions, and leaving is vanishing. How much can they obtain? You people do not know shame and modesty, violating reputations and status, polluting and defiling the ancestral teaching even to such an extent! The aspiration of a great man lies in magnifying the ancestral Way and guiding later generations; one should not arrogantly indulge personal desires without any scruples or dread, courting disaster upon oneself and creating calamities for ten thousand kalpas. Those who suffer in the three evil destinies and hells are not truly suffering; losing the human body from beneath the monastic robe—this is true suffering!" (Bi ji)
